The "Cthulhu Mythos TRPG Maleus Monstrorum Vol.1 Creature Edition" has garnered a mixed yet mostly favorable reception among its users, particularly from enthusiasts of the tabletop role-playing genre. Customers appreciate the improvements made in this version over its predecessor, noting that the readable format and the new illustrations enhance the experience of exploring the mythos. Users highlight that the illustrations provide a greater sense of depth and imagination, especially for lesser-known creatures that are easier to visualize. The book is well-regarded as a valuable reference for both novice Game Masters (GMs) and experienced players, featuring a wealth of new ideas and guidelines on creature portrayal and interactive gameplay. However, there are some notable drawbacks and shifts from previous editions that have left certain fans feeling disappointed. Key changes include the removal of whimsical elements and historical references that were beloved aspects of the original books. Additionally, there are concerns regarding some content revisions aimed at sensitivity, which may not align with the original themes of Lovecraft's works, leading to speculation about the book's future direction. While the volume has plenty of information and is a useful tool for game sessions, reviewers have pointed out issues such as the absence of references to source material, which can diminish the connection for players interested in exploring the origins of the monsters. Despite the criticisms, the Consensus remains that the product holds substantial value for its target audience. **
