Children's Books Editorial Review
**** The reception of this animated movie has been largely positive, particularly among families looking for light-hearted entertainment suitable for young children. Many reviews highlight that the film strikes a good balance, providing a fun viewing experience without being overly terrifying, making it ideal for kids aged 5 to 10. Grandparents have also chimed in, expressing joy in watching it with their grandchildren, which underscores the intergenerational appeal of the film. Viewers appreciate the animation's creativity, especially the way the house is portrayed as a living entity, although some critiques mention the character depth as somewhat lacking. While the humor might be juvenile, many appreciate that it affords lighter comedic moments, perfect for a family audience. There are mixed feelings about certain character portrayals, particularly in terms of their maturity levels, but this hasn’t hindered overall enjoyment. Importantly, notes on the PG rating have resonated with several parents, with calls for vigilance in understanding content appropriateness for their kids. Many viewers noted that while there are mild surprises and creepy elements, these are manageable for most children, as the film doesn’t delve into outright horror. In summary, this animated feature serves its purpose well as an entertaining and safe option for a light scare intended for younger audiences, appealing to both kids and adults alike, satisfying family movie night aspirations. **
