Emmy Kastner Growing Up & Facts of Life Editorial Review
"A Very Big Fall" is a charming children's picture book that creatively describes the falling of leaves in Autumn. The story revolves around three leaves - Birch, Maple, and Oak - who find that change is inevitable. Each leaf has a different attitude towards the change. Birch is excited, Maple is grumpy, and Oak is nervous. Despite their initial reluctance, they eventually learn that life on the ground can be very special. The book provides an entertaining and subtle message about accepting change. The book's illustrations are simple yet effective, and they support the text well. The message of change is beautifully conveyed without being preachy or sentimental. The book is perfect for fall weather and for teaching children the importance of accepting change.
