Respuesta: The sword does not have a honed & sharpened edge. It rounded over and will not cut your hand if you run it down the length of the blade. -

Respuesta: If uncoated carbon steel (or any good metal) is left unmaintained and oiled for long enough it will rust yes. Especially in humid climates. -

Respuesta: I wouldn't give it to small children. It's a real sword, just smaller. It's dangerous in the wrong hands. -

Respuesta: It is not a sharpened edge, but I suppose it could be sharpened. It is also not a full sized sword, but the price is right, it worked well with our Civil war Artillery uniforms during Enactments. -

Respuesta: Not unless your 9 year old is a pretty big kid. This is a good quality reproduction of the original in length and weight. This is not a toy. -

Respuesta: It is a simple mirror finish. Also, it is a much smaller replica of the 1860 original. -

Is this sword fragile?
Respuesta: It is made of steel. I was mad one day and with full force hacked at a chunk of firewood. I’m pretty strong as far as hacking goes and it didn't break. If you hack wood with it all the time, it would probably break, but you shouldn't have to hack anything with it.

The sword is not sharp, but has the potential to cut with force. It is made of steel and is not easily broken. The sword is a smaller replica of the 1860 original, with a simple mirror finish.
