The Westone DefendEar Digital Shooter Hearing Protection Ear Plugs, 78346 are great for hunters and those who shoot guns. They protect your hearing from loud noises and allow for conversations to be held. You can accurately determine which direction a sound is coming from through the stereo sound system. Some customers complain about the battery life, with it lasting only 150 hours, and the fragile battery door. There are also issues with the monofilament post breaking off after six months of use, making it hard to take out the earplugs. Other customers complain about customer service being non-existent after the warranty has expired. Despite these complaints, many customers found these earplugs to be comfortable and afford excellent hearing protection. The unit makes a huge difference with sound levels, with the voice commands being adequate for some, and with the ambient sounds being clear while firing. Overall, these earplugs may be quite pricey for some, but they are a great investment for casual and daily shooters.
