How does the automatic filter cleaning feature work?

The automatic filter cleaning feature in the DEWALT DWV010 utilizes a reverse air flow to clean the HEPA filter during operation. When the extractor is in use, it periodically triggers a cleaning cycle, ensuring maximum performance. Users benefit from uninterrupted work sessions, especially during extensive tasks like sanding or demolition, where dust buildup can be problematic.

Is the HEPA filter replaceable?

Yes, the HEPA filter in the DEWALT DWV010 is replaceable. This is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the dust extractor over time. DEWALT Power Tools DWV010 Editorial Review

DEWALT DWV010 HEPA Dust Extractor with Automatic Filter Cleaning, 8-Gallon is an essential tool for anyone working with dust-intensive materials. Its self-cleaning HEPA filter makes it a standout choice, efficiently handling lead and plaster dust with ease. Users have noted its lightweight design, making it easy to transport despite bulkiness. While the suction power may not match traditional shop vacs due to the HEPA filter, it still performs admirably in maintaining a clean workspace, even when paired with various DeWalt tools. The automatic start feature adds convenience, though care is needed when dealing with high-amp tools to avoid tripping breakers, and some users found the adapter selection slightly confusing.
