- Here’s a detailed description of the VIQUA 650580 Professional UV Water System Sensor (OEM replacement) including its key features, compatibility, and technical points:Overview / FunctionThe VIQUA 650580 is a UV output (intensity) sensor / monitor used in ultraviolet (UV) water disinfection systems.Its main job is to continuously monitor the UV lamp output and ensure that the water is receiving the required UV dose (i.e. the correct UV intensity) for effective disinfection.If the UV intensity drops (due to lamp aging, fouled quartz sleeve, or degraded water UV transmittance), the sensor triggers a “Low UV” alarm.Using this sensor ensures that you don’t continue to run the system under underperforming UV conditions, which could compromise disinfection safety. Compatibility and ModelsThis sensor is made to be used with:VIQUA G, H, J, K series (or “Plus” models)VIQUA PRO (Professional) series: PRO10, PRO20, PRO30, PRO50It replaces older Trojan-UV-MAX 650580 as well.Alternate / old part numbers it may replace: e.g. old “440256-R” sensors.
